How It All Began....
The Grimsby Wargames Society was originally established by a group of enthusiastic wargamers 30 years ago. It has been based in several places in the area: The Newby centre at Weelsby Woods and The Rear of a house down Ladysmith Road before our present premises were finally bought by us in the late 70's. Downstairs we have a large 18 foot table for really large wargaming scenarios along with 4 small tables upstairs for other smaller games.
There are no specific wargaming periods we play but they range from Ancients to the Futuristic Killzone. All sorts of Wargaming Rules are used including Rapid Fire! for WW2. Our club is in use most nights from 7pm. Historical Wargaming takes place on mondays. Warhammer is on Tuesdays. Magic the Gathering is on Wednesday nights with more CCG Gaming on Thursdays. For a map of where to find us in Grimsby click here.

We Make Our Own Scenery
German WW1 Figures by Mal Taylor. WW1 Trench Boards by Mal Taylor and Andy Hamilton. A lot of our members are very talented modellers and model painters. Some of our scenery including shrubbery(hedges, trees etc), plus some of our model buildings, has been built by quite a few of our members. You can see our scenery in the wargames we play in the Galleries section of the site.
